Musical Theatres

It’s not just the festivals that have the city singing and dancing. The upcoming months see musicals to suit all tastes and ages take to the various stages across Leeds’ theatres.

From the creators of the award-winning Britain's Got Bhangra comes Laila: The Musical; a new contemporary musical, retelling the greatest love story from the east, 4th-8th May at West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Become enchanted by Into The Woods. Well-known fairy tale characters collide in this classic musical, brought to life by Opera North and West Yorkshire Playhouse (2nd-25th June).

Get ready to belt out the tunes along with smash-hit musicals at Leeds Grand Theatre. Three-time Brit nominee and X-Factor winner, Alexandra Burke stars in The Bodyguard (10th – 21st May), the breathaking romantic thriller featuring a whole host of Whitney Houston’s greatest hits.

Followed soon after by Guys and Dolls (24th – 28th May); the sizzling New York tale of gamblers, gangsters and nightclub singers, performing some of Broadway’s favourite showstopping numbers.

For a magical musical to entertain the whole family, fly away at Carriageworks with The Return of Neverland (13th & 14th May).
