Based at Brunswick House, Strand Close, Beverley Road, working 37 hours a week, your main duties will comprise the following:
To act as designated Complaints Co-ordinator for Children and Young Peoples Services as required by the Children Act 1989. This involves co-ordinating and overseeing all aspects of complaints made by children and young people, their families and carers who are receiving a service from the Local Authority.
Ensuring the statutory Complaints Procedure is adhered to with the focus on a common approach and a speedy and consistent response to complaints and concerns and that resolution is achieved as quickly as possible.
You will take complaints at Stage 1, manage and co ordinate responses with the relevant team managers. With the Complaints Service Manager, oversee the investigation of complex and demanding Stage 2 complaints and arrange Complaints Panel Reviews including ensuring the Local Authority undertakes the recommendations regarding outcomes and ensure adherence to policy and procedures and complaints legislation.
You must be able to demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm for this type of work and have the ability to work as part of a team and to use your own initiative. You will also have good interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving, and conciliation and negotiation skills.
You will contribute to the development and implementation of policy, procedures and strategies for Children &Young Peoples Services when learning from complaints is identified and the dissemination of learning from complaints across the service areas.
This post requires a social work qualification with HCPC registration and is subject to clearance from the Disclosing and Barring Service.
