If you are a qualified Social Worker with experience of successfully managing activity and performance of individual staff then we have an exciting opportunity for you.

You will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality social work practice, ensuring individuals have a solution focussed plan towards achieving their goals and maintaining their independence. You will demonstrate expert and effective practice in complex situations, assessing and managing higher levels of risk, striking a balance between support and control, liaising with a wide range of professionals. There are posts available within Active Recovery and West Locality Team.

Active Recovery is where Social Work, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy resources within the team will be utilised to support and input into cases where it would benefit the individual and aid in achieving Active Recovery; ultimately supporting people to gain or regain independence, delaying or preventing the need for longer-term support from the council.

Please note that 7 day working including bank holidays will be required and it is anticipated this will not be more than 1 weekend in 3. Further details will be discussed with you once in post.

You will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality social work practice, ensuring individuals have a solution focussed plan towards achieving their goals and maintaining their independence. You will work creatively with individuals, local communities and our partners, empowering them to deliver the best possible outcomes for people and to create a positive Adult Social Care culture.

We are looking for individuals who are qualified social workers or in their final year of study who can demonstrate:

  • a strong value base that informs your workwith adults
  • a relentless commitment to quality - and to beable to talk about what good practice 'looks like'
  • a capacity for honest reflection and openness to learning;
  • Ability to establish professional, effectiveworking relationships with a range of partners/colleagues,adults, families and their carers

Posts are open to both qualified social workers and also to students in their final year of study who have not yet registered with the HCPC. Suitable student candidates will be interviewed prior to qualifying and may receive a conditional offer based on successful receipt of their qualification and registering with the HCPC.

This allows successful students to complete the necessary paperwork and have their DBS and references checked whilst they also wait for confirmation that they have passed their exams, meaning that they will be available to work as soon as they confirm that they have registered with the HCPC.

All social workers must be able to provide and support the delivery of high quality social work activities however, we have opportunities for different levels of experience as follows:

Grade7:

If you are newly qualified and have not yet completed your assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE).

Grade 8:

This post is for you if in addition to the above, you have completed your ASYE and can demonstrate increased decision making autonomy in situations of increasing complexity, risk, uncertainty and challenge.
