A few reminders from Sunday's Sermon - Bear With One Another:
Bearing with one another requires certain qualities:
Isaiah 66:2 "...this is the one whom I will look; he who is humble & contrite in spirit & trembles at my word."
James 4:6 "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
John Stott "In every step of our Christian growth and maturity, and throughout every aspect of our Christian obedience and service, our greatest foe is pride and our greatest ally is humility."
2 Timothy 2:25 "And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth."
Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek..."
1 Thessalonians 5:14 "Be at peace among yourselves. And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all."
