EXPLORE NEWCOMERS LUNCHEON
Our next EXPLORE luncheon will be THIS Sunday, October 2 after the worship service. If you are a newcomer or know a family that is new to RGBC, encourage them to attend this informational luncheon. Lunch will be provided and childcare is available upon request. RSVP on our website by this afternoon to attend.


CHILD SECURITY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We are in need of two additional volunteers to serve one week each month at the child security table.  If you are interested in serving during either Equip or Worship, please contact Alex Schwartzenburg


RGBC SPIRIT WEAR SALES
RGBC spirit wear will be sold again.  If you need to update your old items or if you are new to RGBC and want to purchase some of our RGBC wear...we will be selling various styles and colored T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Polos, and Baseball style shirts beginning on October 2nd.  The sales will run from October 2nd through October 16th.  We will have samples on a table in the Multi-purpose Room for you to peruse beginning October 2nd.  All orders need to have payment accompanied with them.  Come and check us out!  All orders placed will be in prior to Christmas!


PBA ANNUAL MEETING
The Annual meeting of the Potomac Baptist Association will be on Thursday, October 20 at First Baptist Church of St. Charles in Waldorf. The Business meeting begins at 6pm and a Ministry Expo and worship will follow at 6:30pm. The Keynote speaker is Dr. Kevin Smith, the Executive Director of the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware. All are encouraged to attend! Refreshments will be served and reservations are not required.


MID-ATLANTIC MEN'S CONFERENCE
Sponsored by the Washington Area Coalition of Men's Ministries, this is a premiere event for men of all ages! It will take place on Saturday, November 12 from 8:30am-3pm at the Christian Fellowship Church in Ashburn, VA. The registration cost is $45 per man registering & paying in a group of FIVE or more (before November 8). See Joe Pelletier for details or Sign up at the Ministry Connection!

FALL EQUIP CLASSES
There will be three EQUIP classes offered this fall. Please visit our website or the Ministry Connection on Sunday for more information. The classes are: "Fear of Man" led by John Keeler & Jeremy Stover (KCA Music Room); "Systematic Theology" led by Pastor Jeremy Rhoton (Sanctuary); "Singleness & Courtship" led by Steven Mason & Stephen Bell (Youth Hallway).


BIBLICAL COUNSELING CLASS
We are excited to offer a ten month training class called "Equipped to Counsel." This class seeks to equip and encourage followers of Christ to live and counsel the gospel of Jesus and His Word, specially to those living amidst suffering and the troubles of this life. The class meets on Sunday nights from 5-6:30pm @ KCA. If you are interested in taking this class or have questions, please notify Assoc. Pastor Jeremy Rhoton: jeremy.rhoton@rgbcmd.org.


NEW SERMON SERIES
A New Sermon Series on the book of James has begun and will run through November. This week's Scripture passage is: James 2:1-13


WOMEN'S RETREAT
LADIES!  We are excited to announce that our first RGBC retreat will be on November 4 and 5th at the Victorian Candle Bed and Breakfast.  We will meet from 6-10pm on Friday night and then reconvene on Saturday for breakfast at 9:30-3 pm.   Friday's dinner as well as Saturdays breakfast and lunch will be included in the retreat fee of $50.  We have lots of fun things planned as well as a time of worship and being in the Word together. Sign ups for this event begin this Sunday, and will run through October 16th.  Please stop by the women's table in the MPR to sign up.  We are requesting for you to pay at the time of sign ups!  If you have any further questions ask Amy Morris or one of the ladies at the Women's Ministry Table.

CARENET TRAINING
Peer Counselors Needed: CareNet is offering classes to become a peer counselor on October 4, 6, 11, 13, 18 & 20. 9:30am-12:30pm @ Calvert County and 5:30-8:30pm @ St. Mary's County. "VOICELESS" THE MOVIE TICKETS
As an outreach opportunity, we are offering free tickets to see the movie "Voiceless" on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7pm at the Lexington Exchange Movies 12. If you are certain you are able to attend and would like a ticket for yourself and maybe a neighbor or co-worker, please email the church office. We have 8 more tickets to give away on a first come/first served basis.


OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
OCC Shoeboxes will be collected from October 2 through November 13. Stop by the table in the MPR this Sunday to pick up and empty box to fill! There are also two opportunities to serve at the Baltimore-Washington OCC Processing Center! Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 5-10pm and Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 1-6pm. Youth are welcome to serve but must be at least 13 years of age (youth 13-17 must have 1 chaperone per 4 youth.) Sign up at the Ministry Connection this Sunday or contact Rochelle Duplessis with any questions.


WARM MINISTRY
RGBC and LBC will be hosting our homeless guests at LBC over the Thanksgiving week starting on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 20 through the morning of Sunday, Nov. 27. There are many service opportunities. Sign-up sheets will be available each Sunday at the Ministry Connection.
