DEACON NOMINATIONS
The following individuals have been nominated by the elders to serve as deacons for the 2016-17 ministry year.  As per the bylaws the congregation has 30 days to address any questions or concerns to the elders about any of the candidates and their qualifications.  These candidates would be put forward for election at the September 25 members meeting.

YOUTH KICK-OFF!
Calling all youth and youth parents! Our 2016-17 Youth Kick-off event will be on Sunday, August 28 from 5-7:45pm at KCA. We hope to see you there!


SMALL GROUP SUNDAY KICK-OFF
Sunday, Aug. 28 after the service. Learn more about the new Home Groups and EQUIP studies that will be offered in the Fall! Refreshments will be offered.


COLLEGE ADDRESS COLLECTION
We would like to compile a list of addresses for our RGBC college students away from home and at home. Please send your child's address (or yours) to Misha Hash: khash121@netzero.net or at the sign up sheet at the Ministry Connection by September 18. There will be list made available to the congregation to keep in touch with and bless our college students!


RGBC VOLLEYBALL TEAMS FORMING
If you are interested in playing Church Volleyball, please sign up at the Ministry Connection on Sunday. There are three levels of teams for 6th grade to adult: Advanced, Intermediate & Beginner. Contact Dean Gass with any questions.


FALL EQUIP CLASSES
There will be three EQUIP classes offered this fall. Please visit our website or the Ministry Connection on Sunday to sign up.
The classes are: "Fear of Man/Guidance" (6 weeks each) led by John Keeler & Jeremy Stover; "Systematic Theology" led by Pastor Jeremy Rhoton; "Singleness & Courtship" led by Steven Mason & Stephen Bell


BIBLICAL COUNSELING CLASS TO BEGIN
Beginning on Sunday evening, September 11th, we are excited to offer a ten month training class called "Equipped to Counsel." This class seeks to equip and encourage followers of Christ to live and counsel the gospel of Jesus and His Word, specially to those living amidst suffering and the troubles of this life. If you are interested in taking this class or have questions, please notify Assoc. Pastor Jeremy Rhoton: jeremy.rhoton@rgbcmd.org. Deadline to sign up is September 4.


NEW SERMON SERIES
A New Sermon Series on the book of James will begin on Sunday, September 11 and will run through November.

Peer Counselors Needed: CareNet is offering classes to become a peer counselor on October 4, 6, 11, 13, 18 & 20. 9:30am-12:30pm @ Calvert County and 5:30-8:30pm @ St. Mary's County. THE MISSION - 2ND ANNUAL COOKOUT

"VOICELESS" THE MOVIE TICKETS
As an outreach opportunity, we are offering free tickets to see the movie "Voiceless" on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7pm at the Lexington Exchange Movies 12. If you are certain you are able to attend and would like a ticket for yourself and maybe a neighbor or co-worker, please email the church office. We have 25 tickets to give away on a first come/first served basis.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOX AUGUST COLLECTION
The Women's Ministry will be collecting items for OCC for the next several months.
The items for August are School Supplies for Girls, 10-14:

pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser, pens, colored pencils, thin markers, solar calculator (with cell batteries), protractor, compass
This is the last Sunday to bring in your items to the Women's Ministry Table for this month.
