Update on Louie

Dear ,

It is with profound sadness that we share with you that Louie, the cat who was being treated after domestic abuse, passed away a few hours ago.

We sent our earlier email right after we had checked in with the vet, and Louie was steadily improving. But he took a sudden turn for the worst, and our hearts are aching for this loss. We try to only share stories with you when we believe they are going to have happy endings, and we are so sorry if this has caused you sorrow. We share your sorrow deeply.

Please know that your support is not in vain. We have already raised enough money to be able to cover the remaining cost of Louie's vet bill, so his family who helped him escape the abuse won't have to worry about the expense in such a sad time. We're also grateful that the family's two other cats, Zephyr and Simba, were successfully rescued from the threatening situation and will never have to worry about abuse again.

We are committed to ensuring that NO animal has to endure abuse of any kind. You can learn more about what we're doing to help people and pets escape domestic violence together and how you can help spread the word.

Our hearts go out to Louie's family and to you. We are all grieving together.

For Louie and all the animals,
Nicole Forsyth
