It's #GivingTuesday - can you open your heart?

Today we need your help to give animals comfort from the storm

When the storm hits, we need to be ready. Each year, the RedRover Responders program helps thousands of animals in crisis - animals like Oreo.

Oreo_rosalinda_225px Oreo is a scruffy black-and-white terrier mix whose family was torn apart by the devastating flooding in San Marcos, Texas back in June. Do you remember how nervous our nation was when we heard the Lone Star State was under feet of water?

Oreo's family needed to evacuate to safety - immediately. What would happen to Oreo? The thought of leaving Oreo behind terrified them.

When you make a gift today, #GivingTuesday, you ensure pets like Oreo will be given comfort from the storm in 2016.

Thankfully, RedRover Responders volunteers were on their way to San Marcos. Because of supporters like you, we were there to help the San Marcos community with temporary sheltering and disaster care for pets like Oreo.

While many disaster shelters cannot accept pets, your support ensures that there is a safe place for animals after the storm. These animals need food, water and medical care while their families mend their lives.

KittyCuddles_225pxThat's where you come in.

Today, on #GivingTuesday, we challenge you to reflect with us. To think about how thankful we are for our warm, safe homes - and the animals who we share them with. As we gaze into our pets' eyes, who trust us to care for them, we can think too about all the families who might lose the security of a safe home in the storm.

In a spirit of gratitude for how lucky we are to have our pets safe and sound, please give, so families can be reunited in the wake of a natural disaster. Help us raise $5,000 so animals like Oreo can be kept safe this next year.

In past years, your support has helped animals facing floods, tornados, blizzards, hurricanes, fires and more. El Niño, a massive tropical storm, looms close as 2016 approaches and threatens the safety of communities across the country and their animals.

Your support is critical to helping animals in disasters in 2016.

Please help us make comfort, safety and hope a reality for animals next year. Show your #GivingTuesday spirit by 11:59 p.m. tonight, and you will help bring animals from crisis into care in 2016.

Thank you for all you do to help animals,

 Beth Gammie
