These dogs might not make it without you

Don't let them suffer in the sweltering heat.

No dog should have to live like this.

Dogs like Jake are suffering as the summer rages on.

Dear Blue,

Can you imagine how summer temperatures would feel if you had no shelter, clean water, or other relief?

Many "outside dogs" know exactly what this sweltering, inescapable heat feels like: the dizziness, the exhaustion, and the seemingly unquenchable thirst.

With little or no shade to provide some relief from the extreme heat, some dogs might not even make it through the summer.

PETA assists these neglected pups by delivering custom-built doghouses to those who urgently need our help—but the number of dogs we're able to reach depends on your support. Help us do more for a dog in need by making a gift today.

If you give right now, our friends at v-dog will also donate 5 pounds of healthy, vegan dog food.

When our field team found Jake, pictured above, his condition was bleak. He was confined to a desolate patch of dirt, struggling with the heavy metal chain around his neck. Without adequate protection from the unrelenting summer heat, this lonely, neglected dog would be miserable during the long, hot summer days.

Thanks to generous donors, we were able to make Jake's life a little less miserable by providing food, clean water, and a custom-built doghouse that will help protect him from dangerous weather all year round.

  • You'll be helping to fund treatment for a dog who's infested with parasites and supply nutritious food to those who often go without. (Bonus: You can help us feed even more dogs, thanks to our special offer from v-dog—the company will donate 5 pounds of dog food when you make your gift today!)
  • You'll be supplying a toy and affection to an individual who is otherwise isolated and deprived of the simple joys that all dogs deserve to experience.
  • You'll be helping to build a relationship that can last for years. We visit dogs like Jake as often as possible to check on their well-being. Sometimes, we're able to persuade their owners to let them live indoors or let us take them for treatment and adoption.
