Your problems are YOUR problems

Hey Guys—

A few years ago, people started whining about being victims, thereby

deserving of pity and compensation.  Sadly, people started giving
in, giving pity and compensation, and now we have something even
worse:  people aren’t merely claiming to be victims, they now
sorting themselves into classes of victims- while still demanding
compensation for being a victim.

Someone say something mean about you because you’re fat?  You’ve

been fat shamed and are entitled to compensation.  Someone say
something to you that made you feel bad inside?  You’ve been
triggered and are entitled to sit in a safe space. And if you feel
really bad, you get puppies in your safe space (much to the chagrin
of the poor puppies).

As Marty Hart in True Detective said, “there was a time when men

didn’t air their bullshit to the world” and he was right.  You had
problems, you dealt with them as a man and didn’t make your
problems other people’s problems.

Part of the sniveling about “toxic masculinity” is that men are

taught not to show emotion or weakness and to keep it “bottled up”
inside. People who say such things are merely professional victims
scrounging around for compensation they didn’t earn.

The reason you don’t share your emotions about your life problems

is so  you can focus on them and solve them without giving other
people problems, actual or emotional.  If you are a leader, and
you show yourself to melt under pressure, your followers and
subordinates will no longer follow you.  If you show coolness
under pressure, they will respect and follow you.

No one expects men to be “unemotional,” least of all women.  Women

are not attracted to emotionless men, but neither are they attracted
to men who have no control over their emotions.  If a man breaks
down crying because his boss said something mean to him and he
needs therapy, then a woman cannot trust him to provide and protect.
If he takes his ass chewing like a man, keeps his aggravation inside,
and channels it towards getting his job done, he shows the ability
to perform and earn under duress.

I’ve been in business for a long time now, and one of the greatest

skills I’ve learned is to unaffected by adversity.  I honed that
skill in the Navy when I was a young man, getting my ass chewed
for something I needed it chewed for.  I didn’t like it, but it
damn sure motivated me not to do it again, and gave me a very
thick skin which has served me well in business.

In the end, your problems are YOUR problems, and it’s up to you to

solve them.  The perennial loser whines and snivels about problems
for the whole world to see, the winner solves them as fast as he
can, realizing that problem solving is a skill.  You may not like
it, but the more problems you have, the faster you learn to solve
them, and the quicker you get to victory.  No winner has ever
claimed victory without solving myriad problems, and no loser has
every gotten close to it by whining about them.

Your problems are YOURS, so shut up and solve them like a man—

there will be more and better ones for you tomorrow.
