Paying it Forward: Rosa's Pizza Hires BoMF Members
Mason, BoMF Member Derek, and guest at Rosa's during the World Meeting of Families.
Rosa's Fresh Pizza, a Philadelphia pizza shop, has garnered national buzz for their pay it forward mentality.  In their shop, an array of colorful Post-It notes cover the walls, each representing a free slice of pizza paid for by customers. Philadelphia's homeless and at-risk population can come into Rosa's, grab a note and receive a hot slice. The owner of Rosa's Pizza has taken his mission of helping the homeless one step further through a partnership with Back on My Feet. Rosa's Pizza has hired three Back on My Feet members to work in the shop.  Mason Wartman, Founder/Owner of Rosa's Fresh Pizza said of working with Back on My Feet, "Learning to hire good employees was always a challenge at Rosa's...when I learned the members of Back on My Feet had to run at 5:30am, I was excited.  I run a successful restaurant, and I don't even get up that early.  The members of Back on My Feet have exactly the values necessary for success at Rosa's. Of my 6 employees, my last 2 have come from Back on My Feet. I'd love to hire more, but they have been so successful at Rosa's, that I don't need anyone else." Rosa's Pizza hopes to expand in the Philadelphia area and looks to hire more BoMF members in the future.
