"Running Helps Me Stay on the Right Path"

What have we been up to?  We're glad you asked!  In the July, we have had 7 members and 20 volunteers join the BoMF crew.  We have received a grant from our friends at Accenture for professional certification courses for our members currently in Next Steps.
Team Times Square Alumni Derek just started his job at Marriott and began coaching for ConBody, Team Uptown captain Soulieo and Team Brooklyn members Nathaniel and Stephone are settling into their very own apartments! Team Times Square Senior Member Rico (pictured to the right) completed his OSHA certification course and is ready for the next stage of his career and Team ABC member Sean is currently working on his OSHA certification.  Both certifications were made possible due to Accenture's generous contribution to our Next Steps programming.

BoMF NYC is lunging into marathon training and learning to love this August heat!  We have 20 members currently training to race in the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon and have racked up over 50 miles in training routes total.  Not only have we racked up the miles but we've also prepped our members for a healthy training season with an injury prevention seminar with Stand Tall, yoga stretches and Pilates classes, and even trail running!

Meet George

Read about our Team Bowery Alumni Member, George, in the New York Post!

"Back on My Feet helped me with job applications, and now I work for a property management company, doing finishing work on renovations. I moved out of the Bowery Mission in May, around the time that I started the job and 10 months after I first checked in to the shelter. I could have stayed for a year, but I needed to keep moving forward. A friend helped me find an apartment I could afford, and I went for it. I graduated from the Back on My Feet program when I moved out, but I vowed to keep running as an alumni member."
